At our early service, we move at a slower pace with time to reflect and listen in the quiet.  This Sunday as celebrate Penecost together, we wonder at God's movement in us, among us, and beyond us.  Together we'll contemplate the Divine's invitation to join in the work of God.  As we revisit the Pentecost narrative of the Spirit's movement in the world, may we see anew God's movement in our time and space.

This Sunday we welcome Rev. Dr. Laura Rodgers Levens as our preacher.  Dr. Levens is Assistant Professor of Christian Mission at Baptist Seminary of Kentucky.  She teaches Missional Life of the Church courses, Introduction to the Bible, and Christian Vocation. Her scholarly interests include Christian missions history, women in Christian history, biblical hermeneutics, and theology and practice of mission and vocation. She is a member of the American Academy of Religion, American Society of Church History, American Baptist Historical Society, and the National Association of Baptist Professors of Religion.

Over the past year, Dr. Levens has directed our children's Sunday school program at Central.  We are grateful for her dedication to our children's spiritual formation and theological education.
