The Boomers are touring the UK School of Design building on Thursday, April 9th at 10:30 A.M. Our tour will be led by Mitzi Vernon, a neighbor of Jane Tatum, who was the dean of the School of Architecture Design during the building renovation and is writing a book about the project.
Built in 1917 as a tobacco warehouse, the building was acquired by UK to use as a classroom building in the 1960s. After housing the art department for several years, it was vacated and used as a surplus storage location. Renovations, undertaken with a $5.25 million donation from Gray, Inc., were completed in spring semester 2024.

The Gray Building is located on Scott Street - directions and parking information to follow. Lunch afterward is planned for Fiddletree Kitchen and Bar on South Broadway near the Campbell House Inn.

Please let Pat Ingram (patingram609@aol.com) know by next Tuesday (April 7) if you plan to join us.
