We are currently transitioning to in-person groups, so some of these times may no longer be correct. Thank you for being flexible as we continue to adapt! Some groups may still offer hybrid options for folks who wish to join remotely. Find out more about our in-person groups.
Being connected to other people is important to building community. It is often the first thing folks talk about when describing what is great about Central. To foster that spirit of community during physical distancing, several groups and Sunday school classes are meeting online.

Sanctuary Choir

Members of our sanctuary choir meet on Zoom to give updates about life and offer prayer requests to one another. Any person interested in joining the choir can join the Zoom group to meet the other members.
Queer Conversations

We are a group of Christians who have recognized the benefits and abuses we experienced from our various faith communities due to our diverse sexual orientations and identities. We join together once a month to create a space for conversation where the best of our traditions can be called to account by living up to their more noble values for inclusion, welcome, compassion and acceptance. Our group is open to all committed to the vision of the full affirmation of members from diverse sexual orientations and identities, following in the way of Jesus Christ. We look forward to the ways we can help transform our faith traditions into communities where truly all are are welcomed, valued and empowered equally.

A group of adults from the Ordinary Time Sunday School class that values inquiry and pop culture references. The group spends time catching up and playing trivia or other games.
Baby Boomers

While originally geared to those of the Baby Boomer generation, the group welcomes participation by folks of any age. Formed as a social and service group, the Baby Boomers regularly meet for lunch, visiting local attractions and historical sites, as well as volunteering at God’s Pantry. During this time of not doing in person activities, the CBC Baby Boomers are staying in touch via Zoom meetings.

A group that meets weekly for adults who enjoy a discussion-based Bible study following a quarterly curriculum.
New Wineskins
Sunday Mornings at 9:30 a.m.

Prior to CoVid-19 isolation, the New Wineskins met at the traditional Sunday School hour and after the 11 AM church service became a Sunday Lunch Bunch that incorporated a few other Central worship service attendees. We have morphed into a 9:30 to 10 AM Sunday School class led by Bill Walton, who previously led our class. Afterwards, we continue out Zoom group until 11 AM YouTube service. Using that time to touch base, share our activities and concerns.
Open Doors

A discussion-based class made up of adults at different stages of life, who focus on exploring the relationship between faith and society. Using the Bible, as well as other materials, this group values questions, serious thought, personal sharing, mutual respect, and plenty of laughter.

The youth group at CBC meets on Sunday evenings to laugh together and enjoy each other’s presence. They play games, participate in talents shows, and discuss biblical stories together.
