Join us as we build relationships with our Lexington faith community

In our ongoing effort to build relationships with the faith community in Lexington across racial lines, we have accepted the invitation to worship with the congregation of Quinn Chapel AME (744 Charles Ave, 40508) on Sunday morning April 2.  The service will begin at 11 a.m., but you are also invited to breakfast at 9:30 a.m. and Sunday school.  The worship will feature Mark Johnson preaching and will involve other staff members.  The service will also include joining them for communion, which will contribute to lengthening the service time.  Quinn offers communion with wine, but grape juice and gluten-free bread will also be made available.  We will have a sign-up sheet for those planning to attend the breakfast so they can make adequate preparations.   The offerings received at Quinn will benefit the ministries of their church.  Our Sunday school classes are welcome to meet, but should dismiss by 10:45 in order to be there near 11 (sometimes they start a little later, so don’t worry if you are a running a few minutes late).  Recognizing our visitors and others may forget, we will have an abbreviated service at Central at 11a.m. led by Aaron Austin.  Please joyfully participate in our focused and intentional effort to break down barriers and gather in worship as the Christian community called to be one fellowship with our brothers and sisters in the faith.
