Join Pastor Mark for a modified Lectio Divina, exploring one of the upcoming passages for worship.
The Lectio Divina is a Benedictine practice of scripture reading. It uses Bible readings to promote our union with Christ and with one another through listening and mutual understanding. This focus is not directly on Bible study but upon our discussion of a particular text. Participants listen for ways the scripture is speaking to them upon its hearing and discuss its meaning in the context of their current experience and lives. In this way, no advance training or preparation is necessary. Usually this reading will be in advance of a scripture being used for the week's approaching sermon. At announced times, this time slot will also be used to occasionally help new and interested persons to learn about Central Baptist Church.
